If the status is objectively justified - it will stay in proportion to how much effort we put into it. Example: a person takes credit for an expensive car, a suit and a telephone. These are the three bright status marker. Thus, a person can live in a very poor, "Spartan" apartment, semi finished and finished eating lunch. Among the friends and colleagues, his status will be high enough. To believe - will listen. Establish interpersonal communication, such a person would be easy enough. Improving, but not to keep.

The peculiarity is that the forces in the maintenance of such status, will leave as much as achieving it. That is, we can talk about equality efforts, between a person who looks successful (those not being) and a man trying to become successful.
