A
topic that was raised time and again in many different genres of art. Man is by
nature - always strive for more. We will change the world, changing ourselves.
We will seek new lands and territories. To achieve more and better, to serve
their interests. Our intelligence, thirst for novelty and adventurous - there
will always be pushed, if not all of humanity is a certain part of it, to
something more sublime. But is it right?
Attempts
ancient closer to God - have failed. Only one example of the Tower of Babel,
went down in history as a symbol of the ruined ideas. There have been other
attempts, each of which is a tiny step moves us to the goal.
Approaching
God should be seen as an approximation to the ideal image. Due outlook,
experience and environment, each of us formed a perfect image. We can not
reach, because it is constantly changing. But we can keep moving toward him,
getting yourself better and better.
In
comparison with the primitive people, we become gods. We can afford to eat when
we want to live "in heaven" (skyscrapers, and the usual five-story
building can be a maddening caveman). We are beautiful (by comparison) and our
speech many times richer and more perfect. Living in an apartment now, we're in
such a comfortable environment, which were not available Emperors XVIII and XIX
centuries.
Progress
brings us to the status of deities, compared to previous generations. We can
increase the strength and agility, develop intelligence, or plunge into the
abyss of pleasure and enjoyment. But is that enough for us?
Despite
the availability of good, we will always look forward. Comfort and pleasure
depreciate too quickly, and our needs are. Chasing the big unknown result. We
can be perfect beings, but to lose yourself as a person. Or not? Changing the
body and improving the mind, we will stay the same, or will something new and
unique? After changing algorithms of the mind, we remain human?
Fear
of change forces us to stop and back away from the goal. But in the end the
choice will be clear. We either go into the unknown future, climbing the ladder
of civilization and development. Or stay here, in a cozy and worthless Middle
Ages.
And,
as always, the choice is up to us.
