Gordon
Moore's Law continues to operate, offering us a high computing power with low
energy consumption. The size of the transistors is reduced and the amount of
heat too. We can only wait for the tiny chips will help to disperse the brain
to unprecedented limits. Or not?
Electricity
is really a great power. Thanks to him, we can afford to live in a civilized
world. Moreover, it was on the rise and electrical computers, communications
and life-support systems. It is enough that would make progress over the next
20-30 years, but then what? Can we, extracting energy from wind, sunlight or
tides, to travel between the stars, or create a material with a controlled
structure at the atomic level? Progress will come, but only as long as we
provide it with energy.
Cover the
earth ball technology, providing competent energy absorption, creating over
small computers, we will stay near the wall. And then from us will require
other means and values. Other energy and materials. Something that will allow
us to step outside of the "human" perception.
Perpetual
motion that drives progress may stop working permanently, or be transformed
into something more. What is it - it's up to us.
