The embryo cannot
convey thoughts about their expectations of the future. The animal cannot
express their attitude to the state of man. We do not expect a five-year child
precise plan about how and by whom it will work in the future. Every living
being has a set of ideals, but sometimes the final goal is very different from
the expected.
Transhumanism
involves the use of technology for improving the species, and this outlook has
both supporters and opponents. But it is difficult to say what would have felt
the man whose artificial origin would be predetermined. Having a person to be
stronger and smarter, intervening in its DNA (while he was an embryo), we
assumed that it will be increasingly possible. But whether he will be grateful
to us for it?
Probably,
yes. Each one of us likes to get new rights, opportunities and freedoms. But
with them, we gain and responsibility. The man, whose intellect strengthened
with the help of this intervention, will be required to live up to obligations.
Or not? The problem is that we did not know until we try.
