The role of anticipation in transhumanism

Anticipation (in psychology) - a term for a person to anticipate the possibility that an event or its consequences, before the event is done.
Anticipation is the source for the synthesis of a wide range of theoretical knowledge and life experience of the individual subject. Also, a significant role is played by the ability to draw analogies, visually build options for the development, in general, all that activity that is directly related to futurology.
How much more important is the role of anticipation in the development process?
Ideally, the data capacity will point to promising areas of development. And instead, what would spend resources on minor tasks will be to implement them more efficiently.
Naturally, we can not talk about anticipation, as a panacea. To err is human, and often predict the number of events or the consequences of the events, is an order of magnitude less than the number of predictions have not materialized.
It is important to take into account also the fact that anticipation (in today's social development) are treated in a very short time. Humanity is evolving too quickly and unpredictably, that we could draw conclusions about 50-100 years.
Given Moore's Law, multi-vector technology and their areas of application, we can "predict" the future of a maximum of 20 years. Outlines a long-term perspective: reckless and dangerous.
Anticipation is not fortune-telling. But this is the analysis based on the experience and knowledge.
